Frequently Asked Questions
Each weekday Fairfax County checks field conditions and updates this website by 3:00pm with field closures. Any field closures after that time are determined by FAS volunteers. All updates are posted on Rainoutline.com and soon via text and mobile app notifications.
FAS will do our best to reschedule your games on your preferred night of the week. Any changes to night of play will be communicated to managers and players via LeagueApps. You can always contact for the Office with any questions!
After sign-ups close each season the registrations are sent to our seeding committees. The committees are made up of player volunteers who analyze records from the two previous seasons.
General format:
- Top two teams in each division get promoted
- Bottom two teams in each division get relegated
- Summer signups are generally lower (Yay, vacations!) so divisions are often condensed
If you or a teammate would like to volunteer to be on a seeding committee please message the Office and the Executive VP
A super draft is a fun and friendly tournament where players come together to form teams through a random draft process rather than playing with pre-existing teams. Players register individually rather than as part of a team. Draft tournaments allow players opportunities to meet and play with new people. It's a great way to expand your social circle and network within the softball community.
Yes! If you do not have enough players for a team, register as a free agent. We include a field on the form where you can enter your friend’s names. We do our best to honor these requests.
Yes! The only difference is that non-residents will need to pay an additional fee. This is because Fairfax County requires us to collect a fee for all players using county fields that do not reside in Fairfax County. This fee is not kept by FAS but is paid directly to the county.
